Latte Art is achieved by creating a pattern of design in the top layer of micro foam of your latte. It’s is achieved directly by the technique in which the milk is poured into the espresso and or can be detailed or embellished by being drawn into the foam with a sharp implement -ie. the tip of the milk thermometer.
Though it’s thought to have originated in Italy the real popularity boom came from a barista in Seattle in the late 80s. Though latte art won’t directly improve the taste of your coffee, visual presentation does enhance your coffee experience.
